After spending my early years playing soccer and most of my twenties in the gym I was invited to my first yoga class by a teacher friend in 2001. As I left that class I felt lighter, clearer and brighter...and that was all it took to keep me going back. I spent the next few years exploring different styles of the physical practice, Hatha, Yin, Iyengar, restorative and Ashtanga. It was when I began taking vinyasa flow that I really found my true home. It was there that I started to dive deeper into the nuances of my practice, the deeper meanings, the subtle body, the Sutras, the breath work, all the intangible yet most important parts of the practice. In 2010, with the encouragement of a friend and under the guide of my amazing teachers, I decided to begin my journey into teaching with Yoga Works 200 hour Teacher Training program. My intent was simply to deepen my own practice not necessarily teach, but after graduating in march I was asked to sub a class for a friend for the month, nothing like jumping in the deep end! I fell in love with teaching and haven't looked back. I have spent the last decade or so guiding my students, studying with my teachers, surrendering to my practice and my path.Besides teaching Yoga , I am a wife and mother to two beautiful children and two rambunctious dogs. I enjoy cooking and camping, music, the Ocean and reading. I thrive in learning all I can about healthy living, juicing and my ever evolving personal practice. I also teach yoga to a number of corporate clients as well as consulting and juicing for them. My goal as a teacher is to help give my students the tools to truly sit with and in their amazing bodies, in their own victorious breaths, to realize what a gift it is we all have in our own bodies.
