Yoga Class Descriptions

Starting something new can be intimidating – and we get it!  We want to help you make sure that you are in the right class, so this guide breaks down our  different classes to give you an idea of where you should start.  If have any other questions, please feel free to call us, or to just stop by the front desk.  We are here to help!

Gentle Stretch

This class uses gentle stretching combined with restorative yoga poses to restore the nervous system and help release deeply held tensions from the body and mind. We use props to support the postures, while gently stretching and strengthening the body. This class is appropriate for students of all levels.

Yin Yoga

This class uses deep stretching to target the connective tissue, and release fascia, to increase circulation and flexibility.  Once you are in a pose, you are asked to relax deeper into the pose, by softening the muscles.  Passive poses are practiced, mainly on the floor, and are held for longer periods of time.

Yoga 101

Yoga 101 is the perfect place for those who want to learn or review the fundamentals of yoga practice.  In this class, you will learn basic poses, correct alignment, and yoga terminology.  This class is not restricted to new students, and is great for students who want to “go back to the basics”.

Flow – All Levels

This is an active yoga class, where you will move, or flow, from one pose, or asana, to the next.  This practice focuses on linking breath to the continuous flow of movement. A regular practice will increase endurance, flexibility, strength, and mental focus. All levels are welcome.

Flow – Level 1/2

Level one-two is a more strenuous class, that builds on the All Levels Flow by incorporating more advanced postures.

Flow – Intro to L2

Take your advanced practice to the next level.  Learn how to link advanced postures together in a challenging flow.

Sound Meditation & Healing Circle

Please join us on an inner exploration of body, mind and breath as we co-create a loving environment to support our natural healing process. Utilizing the chakra system as our map, we explore the possibility of self-transformation thought better understanding of our energetic and spiritual bodies. Jody bridges the gap between ancient technologies and the relevance it holds today. She presents easy to understand instructions of meditative techniques which may include mindfulness, pranayama, chanting, gentle movement and of course, sound immersion. The purpose is to help facilitate a direct experience of the divine wisdom within, and consciously tap into the natural flow of love which promotes healing on a multitude of levels.

Roll & Restore

Gently nourish, stretch, and strengthen the body through a combination of Nutritious Movement™ restorative exercises, yoga poses, breath work, and self-massage using the Yoga Tune Up® therapy balls. With alignment at its core, this gentle all levels therapeutic class focuses on simple, yet effective, movements that will unlock myofascial restrictions, release tension, enhance body awareness, improve circulation, and restore appropriate muscle length and strength for better functional movement. This class will empower you to MOVE towards optimal wellness, helping you to feel rejuvenated and more at ease in your body.
